Abstract

Three inter-related lines of inquiry on electron transfer in Trimethylamine Dehydrogenase will be followed. These include (i) a detailed investigation of bridging protein structure in electron transfer reactions, (ii) a study of surface residues that mediate electron transfer from the enzyme to its physiological redox partner and (iii) the display of oxygen sensitive redox centres on the surface of the enzyme enabling the enzyme to be readily used in diagnostic environments.
