Abstract

This proposal is for the purchase of a mini ultracentrifuge together with a fixed angle rotor and a swing out rotor to be used for the concentration and purification of human hepatitis viruses in a disease containment laboratory. The apparatus will be used for a variety of applications in research into hepatitis C virus, principally, but will also be used in hepatitis A and hepatitis B virus related work. The apparatus would provide a valuable enabling technology of general use for a new, but rapidly growing research group.
