Abstract
1. Perform targeted and random mutagenesis of the BAC clone of the highly oncogenic strain RB1B and evaluate the effects on viral replication and oncogenicity; 2. Evaluate the role of different viral genes in the BAC clones of the vaccine strain CVI988 in inducing protection against virulent MDV strains; 3. Investigate the use of CVI988 BAC as a vector for delivery of epitopes or foreign antigens.
