Abstract
Objectives: 1. Compare the virus-host interactions of the disease induced by cytolytic (e.g. C12/130) and non-cytolytic (e.g. HPRS-16) strains of MDV. 2. Evaluate the ability of virulent MDV isolates to breakthrough the immunity induced by different vaccines. 3. Compare the sequences of different genes from virulent MDV isolates with those of classical strains and evaluate the functional significance of any changes in terms of increased virulence or ability to evade the immune responses.
