Abstract
"Tomato is a valuable crop world wide and the tomato genome sequence will provide a genomic framework for the Solanaceae. A prerequisite for effective exploitation of this genomic information is a saturated collection of mutant lines and a method of screening this resource to identify individual gene knockouts. We have developed a mutagenised population of tomato lines and will screen this resource for knockout mutations in genes that are likely to modulate fruit quality and water-use efficiency."
