Abstract

The project will centre on software and communications developments for progressive BBN manipulations and multimedia data delivery. BBNs are modern computer based tools that can be used to accommodate and manipulate multiple sources of uncertain information. In this respect BBNs can be used to construct valuable, transparent mathematical models of uncertain domains and can support decision making under uncertainty. These tasks form essential elements of progressive food safety assessments. This project is designed to accommodate and take advantage of recent, market driven, IT developments, in other fields, within targeted food safety modelling. The project will include development of front-end applications, development of user tools for the construction and manipulation of BBN models and investigation and assessment of different strategies for data input and storage relating to the development of BBN technology
