Abstract
The aim of this project is the development of generic tools for pre-processing and for multivariate analysis of high-dimensional data. There are two main types of tools that are needed: (a) pre-processing tools, to perform treatments such as peak alignment (registration), peak detection, and component identification critically, these tools need to be automated and high-throughput, to complement the instrumental techniques that generate the data (a) stochastic modelling methods that are not `black boxes¿, i.e., that are capable not only of effective predictive modelling, but also of revealing underlying chemical or biochemical information.
