Abstract

We have shown that detergent-like phospholipid molecules in cells can act as important information carriers in the signalling pathways by which hormones in the blood control many cellular responses such as movement and cell division. This work attempts to identify the next step in the information pathway by isolating proteins from cells that can recognise and bind to the phospholipid messengers.
