Abstract
i) To seek chemical and spectroscopic evidence for the presence, in the superoxidised (S)state of cytochrome bo, of an aromatic radical. ii) To make kinetic studies of the reaction of reduced and mixed-valence cytochrome bo with oxygen. iii) To develop a model of the magnetic coupling between haem o and CuB(II) in the oxidised state of cytochrome bo.
