Abstract

The current CCP13 project has already generated excellent software packages for fibre diffraction, the first publications are in preparation, two very successful Workshops have been held, two Newsletters have been produced for international circulation and the Fibre Diffraction community across the world is beginning to come together. This is precisely what was hoped for in the original project application and the present renewal proposal is designed to build on the current success to produce a really robust, user-friendly and versatile suite of programs to strip intensities from observed 2-D diffraction patterns from both biological systems and from synthetic polymers. In addition, it is proposed that the CCP13 RA will start to develop software to model low-resolution biological structures, taking account of the various kinds of disorder that can be involved, thus to produce a fibre-modelling package with wide application. The CCP13 Steering Committee will continue to produce Newsletters, to organise international Workshops and to promote the Fibre Diffraction community.
