Abstract
The main objective of this programme is to obtain an insight into the substrate selectivity of acyltransferases in plants and to extend diversity of potential storage lipids which can be made. This will involve; i) isolation of a plant membrane bound sn-1 acyltransferase; ii) biochemical analysis of both sn-1 and sn-2 acyltransferases from different species and iii) structural studies on these enzymes. (Joint with grant 50/WCP05425.)
