Abstract

1. Automate the measurement of critical flux as defined as the flux where flux/pressure variation starts to show hysteresis between increasing and decreasing pressure curves. 2. Measure the variation of critical flux as a function of pH, ionic strength, cross flow velocity particle size, concentration and charge for a range of particle sizes which cover more than one dominant mechanism for particle migration away from the membrane surface. 3. Compare these results with theoretical predictions.
