Abstract

This cross-desciplinary application seeks to develop atomic force microscope (AFM) as a novel analytical tool for the characterisation and investigation of nucleic acids. Through the development of methods that allow single molecule forces of adhesion to be measured, the rapid quantification of single-strand-single strand and higher order interactions will be achieved on sub-milligram amounts of material.
