Abstract
This proposal seeks funding to establish a virtual structural centre in CD spectroscopy that will be a national source for researchers and a focus for development of international prominence in the area of protein folding and dynamics of proteins interacting with membrane, nucleic acid and carbohydrates. Its focus will be the development of a beamline for CD data collection which will take advantage of the enhanced flux attainable using SR. It will include a bioinformatics component for analysis and database establishment. This offers opportunities to not only provide a communal resource, but also a forum for method development and communication.
