Abstract

The capacity of scrubs for mental time travel will be assessed using a cache-recovery paradigm. We shall investigate retrospective cognition by determining whether cache recovery depends upon episodic-like memory that encodes what type of food was cached where and when in a bound representation that can be deployed flexibly at recovery. Prospective cognition will be assessed by investigating the sensitivity of caching to the state of the food caches and the motivational state of the jays at recovery.
