Abstract

Neospora is a significant, newly recognised protozoan parasite causing abortion in cattle. Nothing is known of the protective immune response to it, but cellular responses are likely to be of major importance and their subversion is likely to be a major factor in disease pathogenesis. This project will study the immunology, pathology, parasitology and clinical sequelae of experimental infection in cattle at different times in relation to conception and gestation.
