Abstract

In this project we intend to identify specific inhibitors of the bovine viral diarrhoea virus p80 protease by utilising active-site-directed labels and substrate specificity studies. In addition, we intend to develop a novel microtitre plate assay which represents a completely stochastic method for identifying active-site-directed inhibitors which does not require prior knowledge of enzyme specificity.
