Abstract
The work aims to : (a) specify basic properties of the perceptual operations involved in intermediate human vision; and (b) test these operations via computational modelling. In particular we will (i) distinguish operations in terms of whether they are part of a contour- or surface-based processing system; (ii) assess whether the operations are spatially serial or parallel; and (iii) evaluate the time course of the different operations. Data on the nature of intermediate human vision will be used to constrain computational models of performance.
