Abstract

1) To obtain cDNA clones encoding nicotinic acetylcholine receptors from Manduca sexta. 2) To express these clones and pharmacologically characterise the receptors they encode, especially the response to nicotine. 3) To identify specific amino acid residues involved in any distinctive pharmacology of the Manduca nAchR. 4) To examine the temporal and spatial control of receptor expression in the intact insect.
