Abstract

There are three objectives of equal importance, united under a common framework: 1. explore the performances consequences of nutritional decisions in the locust, by experiment and through modelling; 2. investigate the interactions between physiological mechanisms regulating protein and carbohydrate intake in the locust, using experiments and modelling; 3. perform comparative experiments on two other species selected on the basis of specific life-history characteristics: a caterpillar and a cockroach (the latter with and without its mycetocyte symbionts).
