Abstract
Screen for transgenic lines that express GAL4 in the ventral midline cells of the Drosophila embryonic central nervous system. Use these lines to drive expression of a GAL4-responsive toxin gene to specifically ablate midline cells. Characterise defects in axon guidance resulting from the ablation of specific cells.
