Abstract

The Chemical Biology group in Sheffield are engaged in a broad range of research projects in the biomolecular sciences area, and this application is a request for a state-of-the-art NMR facility to support this work Projects include fundamental studies of weak interactions, the chemistry of recognition and catalysis in biological systems, synthesis of novel molecules/combinatorial libraries for biomedical studies and the preparation of biomaterials. All of these projects will benefit in different ways from the range of new experiments which can be performed by the instrument requested and which are not currently possible using the spectrometers currently available in the chemistry department.
