Abstract

Support is sought for the purchase of a confocal scanning laser microscope (CSLM) to support multi-user, interdisciplinary projects of the highest strategic relevance across three Research Groups (Oral Microbiology Research; Skeletal Tissues Research and Biomaterials and Tissue Repair) within Leeds Dental Institute (LDI). The aim of all of these projects is to address fundamental biological questions and provide high quality scientific data of relevance to end users to underpin further studies and income generation. Projects fall into 3 main areas i.e. 1) Biofilm studies - Architecture, ecology and biological properties; 2) Skeletal tissue biology - Formation to destruction; 3) Tissue engineering and biomaterials.
