Abstract
This proposal aims to substantially enhance the resolution, quality and applicability of the chicken genome microsatellite marker map. An additional 150 polymorphic loci will be contributed to the international mapping effort. These markers will be integrated into the development of a standard panel of fluorescent-labelled oligonucleotide primers for use in automated genetic marker typing in the mapping of quantiative trait loci.
