Abstract

DNA arrays will be generated that include all the predicted genes of the baculovirus Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV). These will be used to simultaneously monitor the expression of all AcMNPV genes throughout the infection cycle. The data obtained will be validated by comparison to Northern blot data for selected genes. AcMNPV mutants lacking a functional ie2, lef7, 39k or pcna gene will be generated. The effect of the disruption of each of these genes on global gene expression profiles during infection will be determined.
