Abstract
We have recently developed improved methods for high resolution optical sectioning of entire Arabidopsis tissues. We plan to use computer visualisation methods to reduce large data sets to a simple description of the 3D shapes and arrangements of cells in a meristem. In particular, we will describe the arrangement and timing of cell divisions in secondary root meristems, and adopt these techniques to analyse meristems that have been genetically perturbed by GAL4 targeted cell ablation or misexpression.
