Abstract

Funds are requested to support part of the cost of erecting a greenhouse that is specially adapted to provide containment of transgenic plants. An ante-room, providing the only entrance into the glasshouse, will allow users to wash, change lab-coats etc, and to bag all plants and soil waste prior to disposal. A purpose built environmental control room will be installed into an annex to the ante-room. This will provide the necessary conditions for metabolic and physiological studies on the transgenic plants.
