Abstract
Arabidopsis mutants derived by T-tagging or X-ray deletion will be screened by challenge with severe and mild strains of CaMV. Mutants with increased, decreased or altered responses will be isolated and a genetic linkage map established. Cloning of mutant genes will be expedited using either a T-DNA probe or in the case of deletions, a novel subtractive hybridisation technique. Mutant genes will be characterised by sequencing. Host/virus interactions will be analysed using combinations of plant and virus each containing mutations affecting aspects of pathogenesis.
