Abstract
The proposed research will 1) map genes influencing the efficiency of C3-C4 photosynthesis in Moricandia; 2) establish the relationship between the genomes of M. nitens and B. rapa through comparative mapping and 3) use the interspecific transfer of chromosomal segments through sexual crosses to a) disrupt C3-C4 photosynthesis in Moricandia and b) transfer C3-C4 photosynthesis to Brassica.
