Abstract

This project is concerned with the development of stochastic models for biochemical systems and their quantitative analyses, and seeks to address the following problems: (1) representation of biochemical systems through the development of stochastic models, including stochastic space-time models and stochastic functional differential equations; (2) mathematical analysis of the dynamical properties of stochastic biochemical models, e.g. stability, attractors, oscillation, chaos, especially the role of enzymes in the stability of biochemical systems under environmental noise; (3) numerical analysis of the consequences of noise in biochemical systems.
