Abstract
The true specificities and mechanisms of glycosidases of potential use in pulp treatment, and of dihydropteroate synthetase, the target of sulphonamide antibiotics, will be determined. Equipment used for monitoring enzyme-substrate interactions will also be used to monitor reactions of the macromolecules themselves, in studies of the interaction of engineered protein G molecules with antibodies and in a focused study of real chemical changes that occur during the ageing of paper.
