Abstract

These glasshouses are urgently required to underpin expansion of our nematode resistance technology for which a patent has been granted. Tropical houses are required to underpin a collaboration on pineapple (with Pineapple Growers of Hawaii) and rice (ODA Plant Sciences Programme) plus current discussions for other crops (e.g. banana, sugar-cane). Temperate houses are required to support expansion of our collaboration on sugar-beet (Hilleshog NK) and to underpin a major grant on potato (SOFAD). Provision of the houses will allow challenge of nematodes and selection of lines of high efficacy for subsequent field trials against target nematodes.
