Abstract
The equipment requested is the first commercially available instrument capable of performing capillary electrochromatography (CEC), a new separation technique which promises to become a key tool for the highly selective separation of biomolecules. The objective of the research proposal is to evaluate the effectiveness of CEC for the analysis of pharmaceutical and biotechnology related compounds, a field in which CEC has seen little or no application. Information on the suitability of this promising new technique will have generic interest to those working on biopolymers and related compounds in the disciplines of biotechnology, biochemistry and the pharmaceutical sciences.
