Abstract

We are applying for funds to upgrade a 500MHz NMR spectrometer (to add a third radiofrequency channel, pulse field gradient accessory, etc.) under the Joint Research Equipment Initiative, with matching funds from the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The spectrometer upgrade will significantly enhance the capacity for the number of intra- and inter-departmental collaborative biological NMR projects. The scope of these studies includes the determination of the three-dimensional solution structures of proteins, peptides, nucleic acids and their interactions with ligands, as well as aspects of protein design and the investigation of protein folding pathways.
