Abstract

The research programme aims to increase our fundamental knowledge of the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway of double strand break (DSB) repair in Arabidopsis, and apply this knowledge to the development of improved gene targeting in plants. The impact of null NHEJ mutations on the ratio of homologous recombination (HR)/NHEJ and T-DNA transformation frequency and will be determined through the use of both established and novel assays for HR in plants.
