Abstract
I will study the role of Ubx in determining the size differences between the legs of Drosophila. I will describe leg morphogenesis at the cellular level and determine the spatial and temporal requirements of Ubx for morphogenesis. I will examine the interaction of Ubx with genes known to drive morphogenesis. Finally, I will screen all genes known to affect leg development to determine which might be under homeotic control and as a source of genes for future research.
