Abstract

(i) To determine the effect that phosphorylation of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) has on its activity (ii) To relate modification in the structure of the N-terminal extension of PEPCK to function (iii) To characterise and purify PEPCK kinase with a final view to cloning it (iv) To generate oil seed rape by antisense technology, which contain decreased PEPCK, in order to study the importance of PEPCK in gluconeogenesis.
