Abstract

Support is requested to provide 50 percent of the cost of purchasing a multicolour fluorescent in situ hybridisation (FISH) system: a Vysis QUIPS XL Genetic Work Station. This will replace/upgrade an obsolete dual colour FISH image analysis system which cannot provide the sensitivity or resolution required to maintain our competitiveness in molecular genetics. This equipment is essential for the work of 15 academic members of staff, 30 postdoctoral fellows and 30 PhD students currently working in the Leeds Molecular Medicine Unit and funded by over 50 peer reviewed grants.
