Abstract

This proposal is for equipment to establish a Protein Crystallography X-ray facility at the John Innes Centre. This will provide much-needed support for the Protein Crystallography Group, which currently relies on facilities off- site. The Group has a portfolio of projects studying the structure-function relationships of a variety of enzymes, transcription factors and transport/binding proteins from both plant and microbial sources. The equipment requested will be used for all routine X-ray data collection applications enabling more appropriate and efficient use to be made of synchrotron beamtime allocations.
