Abstract

The request for an AFM controller is to allow us to develop a dedicated AFM to assess the applicability of a new active-Q AFM technique which has been demonstrated in preliminary experiments to give considerably higher resolution at lower forces on very soft systems. Our aim will be to allow members of the Bristol AFM group, in collaboration with various biological groups within and without the university, to use the next technique in order to map the areas which will benefit most in the first instance.
