Abstract

The Centre for Genome Research is an Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) sponsored by the BBSRC and constituted as a non-teaching department within the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Edinburgh. The Centre was formally integrated into the Division of Biological Sciences of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in August 1995. The remit of the Centre is to develop and exploit for scientific and commercial application techniques in transgenic biology, such as germline manipulation, stem cell manipulation and genetic manipulation by mutagenesis, of relevance to agriculture, medicine and mammalian biology
