Abstract

The objective is to develop microelectrode structures, constructed using excimer laser technology and photolithography, capable of performing a wide range of bioprocessing functions. The distinguishing innovation will be the fact that these functions will be performed on devices describable as a Biofactory-on-a-chip (BFC). To maximise chances of a successful deliverable, initial focus will be on water/microbial applications.
