Abstract

Proteomic analysis, an investigation of the quantity, location and interactions of proteins within cells, is an essential part of Functional Genomics. The technologies are evolving quickly, and require complex equipment, skilled operators and careful experimental design. The BBSRC IGF proteomics facility allows Arabidopsis and Drosophila researchers to exploit these rapidly evolving technologies. In addition it carries out technique development and provides expert guidance for the communities. In this proposal, we request a renewal of the mass spectrometrist PDRA position to secure the maintenance and development of mass spectrometry capabilities during the remainder of the first funding period and the next funding period.
