Abstract

The project will build on the last ten years of success for the Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock Centre in the provision of seed, DNA and information resources to the research community. NASC will continue with an appropriate community responsive acquisition policy for key Arabidopsis genetic resources; provide a safe depository for these materials; and will strive to ensure the most cost-effective and rapid bulking and distribution of these materials to the wider plant research community. Although this will necessitate further expansion of the existing resource base, the continued adoption of economies of scale and efficient organisation will allow us to manage this expansion with only a small increase in the current staffing levels.
