Abstract

We will use a combination of novel analytical methods to study the evolution of reproductive behaviour in a population of wild birds studied since 1947. The main focus of our work will be to attempt to explain the response of the population to changing climatic conditions, and to understand a major paradox in evolutionary population biology; why characters under directional selection, with plentiful additive genetic variation, apparently do not evolve.
