Abstract

We wish to provide oligo-array hybridisation for transcriptomics to the Arabidopsis community using the Affymetrix Gene chip system. This is a complementary technology to microarrays which will allow the generation of large volumes of bioinformatically attractive data, and which is proactive in terms of technologies used by other Arabidopsis communities around the world, and has the additional advantage of fast access to transcript analysis technology. These oligo-array experiments and integration of the ensuing data into databases openly accessible to the Arabidopsis community will be performed by NASC as an additional service alongside the micro- and macro-array resources that we are providing as part of the GARNet IGF project for Arabidopsis.
