Abstract

The potent and specific insecticidal toxins produced by strains of the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis are of great public health and agricultural importance in the control of pest insects. However, the re-engineering of such toxins for action against new insects (or those that have developed resistance), offers the potential to control a whole spectrum of new targets.
