Abstract

This project involves 11 members of this Department whose interests span many different aspects of plant biology. It aims to promote functional-genomics in each lab by exploiting Arabidopsis genome sequence information in combination with publicly available transposon insertion lines. Specifically we will use 30,000-40,000 insertion lines to establish a Departmental collection of organised pools of genomic DNA for use in PCR-based reverse- genetic screens in each participating lab. An established screen for insertions in a family of small GTPases will be used to confirm the utility of the new genomic DNA resource and to test the role of these GTPases in organising plant membrane traffic.
