Abstract

We will use a combination of surface plasmon resonance and mass spectroscopy to dissect the molecular details of translational repression in a number of model systems, especially in the Archaea where there is an interesting evolutionary mix of both prokaryotic (Shine-Delgano sequences) and eukaryotic (initiation factors) features.
