Abstract
We propose to study the roles played by the Wnt-10A gene in (a) embryonic development and (b) mammary growth and differentiation. A null mutation will be generated by homologous recombination. We anticipate that this mutation will be homozygous lethal and therefore propose to employ tissue-specific gene targeting based on the cre/loxP recombinase system to examine the role of Wnt-10A in the mammary gland.
